Greetings from Plettenberg Bay
We look back on a very long and prosperous season which brought many visitors to Plett and we hope they will be back soon and bring their friends as well. At the moment many business owners and their staff enjoy the “quiet season” to recharge the batteries and whilst we welcome this we are already looking forward to “season”.
At Bay Holiday Homes we welcome Melony to the team and she look forward to assisting you with the planning of your next visit to our town. For this you do not need to wait as there are many events and activities to entertain you throughout the year.
Our wine farms are now well established and a number offer wine tastings and lunches. You can either visit them at your leisure or join a tour or how about cycling through the vineyards with a number of tasting and ending with a lunch.
Plett is already known as a cycling destination but the commencement of work on the Plett to Cape Town cycle route with dedicated cycle lanes will open up many new opportunities. The first phase runs between Plett and George and is due for completion in March next year. Once completed this project is expected to create some 100,000 job opportunities so get on your bike and do it for your country.
For the more casual nature lovers there are hikes to suit all abilities from short self-guided to longer hikes where you only carry your day pack and your luggage is carried to your overnight stops for you
For the birding community Plett offers a habitat to some 50% of all of South Africa’s endemic birds can be seen in our area. An increased number of hides are in the planning to increase the viewing opportunities.
Together with our wine and food fairs, our blue flag beaches, fantastic local restaurants and golf courses there are ample reasons to visit us year round.
Give Susan or Melony a call and make their quiet season a short one.
See you soon
